  • 1968

    Wayne H. Coloney Company

    Formed as a civil consulting engineering firm serving north Florida.

  • 1974

    Machine Design and Mechanical Automation

    The company expanded into advanced machine design and mechanical automation equipment for commercial and governmental clients.

  • 1977

    Largest Prime Contract

    The company was awarded a contract by the U.S. Air Force to automate the ammunition loading for the A-10 attack aircraft. It became the largest prime contract that had ever been awarded to a small business by the Air Force.

  • 1978

    Contractor of the Year

    Recognized by the Small Business Administration as the ‘Contractor of the Year’ for the Southeastern United States.

  • 1979

    Automated Fuels Accounting Computer System

    Development began on the first ‘Automated Fuels Accounting Computer System’ (AFAS) to control fuel dispensing for the U. S. Air Force. The system was deployed at sixty-three bases in the continental U.S.

  • 1984

    Howden-Airdynamics

    The company was acquired by the ‘Howden-Airdynamics’ group based in London, England and renamed HCI.

  • 1987

    All Air Force Bases Worldwide

    The AFAS contract was expanded to include all Air Force bases worldwide.

  • 1989

    Syntech Systems

    Syntech Systems was formed to acquire HCI.

  • 1990

    FuelMaster

    Due to the success of the AFAS program, Syntech began to market the system commercially to non- military users under the name ‘FuelMaster’.

  • 1990

    AC-130 attack aircraft

    The company was contracted by Rockwell, Inc. to develop the automated ammunition resupply system for the AC-130 attack aircraft.

  • 1995

    Department of Defense Worldwide

    The AFAS contract was expanded to include all DOD locations worldwide including U.S. Army, Navy, and Marine Corps.

  • 1997

    Engineering Development Capabilities

    The company initiated a major expansion of its ‘engineering development capabilities’ with an emphasis on hardware, software, communications and security products, related to fueling automation technology.

  • 2000

    Commercial Marketing and Sales Staff

    Expanded its commercial marketing and sales staff in response to new products developed by the engineering department. The expansion included the creation of twelve sales regions across the U.S. and Canada.

  • 2002

    Small Business of the Year

    Awarded the ‘Small Business of the Year’ by the Tallahassee Democrat and the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.

  • 2009

    Ceremonial Military American Flag

    Presented with a ceremonial military American flag that was flown over Army squadron headquarters during combat in gratitude for continued support and donations of American soldiers.

  • 2010

    One of the Best Companies to Work For

    Recognized as “One of the Best Companies to Work For’ in Florida by the Florida Trend Magazine.

  • 2012

    Manufacturing Business of the Year

    Awarded the ‘Manufacturing Business of the Year’ by the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.

  • 2014

    Innovation and Technology Business of the Year

    Awarded the ‘Innovation and Technology Business of the Year’ by the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.

  • 2015

    Made in Tallahassee

    Awarded the ‘Made in Tallahassee’ award by the Economic Development Council for companies who are headquartered in Tallahassee and whose products are marketed nationally.

  • 2018

    Highest Credit Rating (AAAA1)

    Syntech retired its remaining long-term debt to become completely debt-free. The company continues to be recognized by ‘Dun & Bradstreet’ with the ‘highest credit rating’ (AAAA1) available to a business its size.

    World’s Greatest Fuel Management Company

    Serving over 8,000 customers from the U.S. Government and Fortune 500 companies, to your local municipalities and schools, Syntech Systems was awarded the World’s Greatest Fuel Management Company by World’s Greatest Television.
