Are you an explorer?  Do you find yourself digging into applications and appliances to see what makes them tick and how they can be improved? We are seeking a Quality Developer (Software Test Engineer) who will work collaboratively with fellow engineers to support the development of Syntech’s enterprise fuel and fleet management systems.  You will use exploration, experimentation, and various other testing methods to provide information about the quality and stability of Syntech’s products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Use testing as a tool to quickly find issues that matter in new and existing software, firmware, and hardware products and features.
  • Assess gaps in testing capabilities; implement methods and tools to aid product testing.
  • Develop and execute strategies for identifying and assessing risk to the product.
  • Work collaboratively with teams during the entire product development lifecycle.
  • Provide input during development to ensure products include diagnosis, testability, and maintainability features.
  • Share knowledge gained through testing, documentation, and learning sessions.
  • Continuously expand knowledge base by participating in testing communities, professional organizations, and educational opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related field of study; will consider relevant years’ experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of testing or development experience.
  • Knowledge of electric vehicle technology, preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of software and firmware test strategies and methodologies, preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize activities based on risk and quickly adapt to context changes.
  • Ability to select the testing approach and tools best suited for the current context.
  • Experience in using and developing tools for automation assisted testing.
  • Familiarity with agile software development methodology and releases processes.
  • Experience in 2 or more of the following areas required: web application testing, embedded systems testing, or mobile applications testing.
  • Experience in programming or scripting languages, particularly Python.
  • Ability to develop good rapport with others and work within a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
