SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

We are seeking a Systems Administrator who will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of Syntech’s Windows Server infrastructure and related services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform server administration tasks including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly.
• Monitor datacenter health using preexisting management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise.
• Help build, test, and maintain new servers, as needed.
• Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including laptop and desktop computers, servers, SAN, NAS, security updates, and backup infrastructure.
• Interact with the help desk and other teams to identify root cause, assist with troubleshooting, and provide technical support, as needed.
• Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems.
• Provide documentation and technical specifications for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
• Optimize, streamline, and automate infrastructure.
• Work with 3rd party software vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

REQUIREMENTS:

• This position is in-house; typical office hours are Mon-Fri, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Some on-call and after-hours work, as needed.
• BS in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or other related discipline; will consider relevant years’ experience in lieu of degree.
• Knowledge and experience dealing with the implementation and issue resolution of Microsoft Windows Server technologies and services running versions 2016 to 2022; technologies include Active Directory, SQL Server, IIS, DFS, and DNS.
• Additional experience working within a hybrid LINUX/Windows environment, preferred.
• Experience with Powershell, Python, or Ansible.
• Extensive experience in diagnosing and repairing client/server issues, troubleshooting virtual applications and machines, and working with remote users.
• Minimum of 3 years’ enterprise system administration experience in an active directory environment.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a virtualized server infrastructure using VMware vCenter.
• Comprehensive knowledge of network and systems security best practices.
• Solid knowledge and experience with Microsoft 365, Windows Server  Active Directory or Linux, DHCP, DNS, and Group Policy management.
• Extensive experience in change management and documentation.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange including new user creation, email archiving, and litigation searches.
• Strong communication skills; comfortable interacting with a diverse audience (outside vendors, clients, employees, etc).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks; possess excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Must be able to physically bend, stoop, and lift up to 40 pounds, as necessary for equipment installations, workstation setups, etc.
• Multiple Technical Vendor Certifications, preferred.
