We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Quality Assurance Manager who will lead the way in helping to ensure the quality and stability of Syntech’s products.  This individual will work with Test Engineers and other engineering teams to support the development of Syntech’s enterprise fuel and fleet management systems.

  • Develop end-to-end testing strategies and processes for conducting efficient and effective functional testing of Syntech products and features.
  • Lead development of software/firmware test frameworks.
  • Work with testers to develop and execute effective test plans.
  • Work closely with engineering and product management stakeholders to prioritize, scope and plan product releases.

Supervisor and Technical Guidance:

  • Develop and oversee progress for departmental goals and objectives.
  • Mentor Test Engineers and Technical Writers; manage career development activities.
  • Supervise Test Engineers and Technical Writers; administer performance evaluations; provide continuous coaching and constructive feedback to stimulate high performance.

Test Management

  • Communicate quality issues, recommendations, and risks to stakeholders.
  • Manage the planning and execution of product testing efforts.
  • Anticipate and oversee materials, costs, and resources needed to meet testing commitments.

Release Management

  • Create tasks and checklists for product releases.
  • Orchestrate the preparation and posting of products for customer deployment.
  • Anticipate and take corrective action for release issues and escalate problems as needed to meet release commitments.

Documentation Management

  • Establish and maintain end-user documentation policies for all Syntech products.
  • Review and approve documentation before distribution.

Quality Management

  • Research and recommend methods and tools that can help facilitate improvements to the quality of the engineering process.
  • Encourage continuous improvement and efficiency through process enhancement and automation.
  • Support established organizational processes while making incremental improvements, as needed.
  • Participate and lead in ongoing quality improvement efforts.

Operations and Product Support

  • Monitor operations and product support activities; participate in troubleshooting and high tier support efforts.
  • Work with Operations to better understand customer profiles.


  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related field of study; will consider relevant years’ experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years of direct testing or quality assurance experience, to include a minimum of 3 years in a lead or management position
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with implementing and administering QA and Testing Principles and Methods.
  • Advanced knowledge of software, embedded software, and firmware test strategies and methods.
  • Solid problem solving, interpersonal communication, and project management skills.
  • Experience in two or more of the following areas: PC Client and web browser application testing, embedded systems testing, mobile applications testing, or application security testing.
  • Capable of developing a good rapport with subordinates, peers, and stakeholders.
