We are seeking a dynamic Embedded Systems Engineer whose ingenuity and creativity will help us push the boundaries of excellence!  In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a team of engineers who are passionate about innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Your primary responsibility will be to develop and support the firmware on multiple platforms, some of which interface with vehicle On-Board Diagnostics (OBD).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Design, extend, and maintain embedded firmware utilizing C, Python, and/or Java.
  • Ensure device compatibility utilizing vehicles and vehicle simulators.
  • Research, design, and implement solutions for technical issues.
  • Document development efforts. This includes design documents, code comments, and project specifications.
  • Perform tests using debugging, CAN analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other related field; will consider relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • 3-5 years’ experience developing and/or maintaining firmware.
  • Proficient with C, C++, Linux, and/or Java.
  • Experience developing in an RTOS environment to include (but not limited to) task scheduling & inter-task communication.
  • Experience in firmware development interacting directly with hardware, preferred. This includes ISRs and device drivers for interfacing with both on- and off-chip hardware systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with reading schematics, data sheets, hardware specifications, and standards.
  • Experience with any of the following, a plus:
    • Automotive telematics devices and communication protocols such as CAN.
    • General RF principles and communication protocols such as Zigbee or 6LoWPAN.
    • Scripting languages such as Node.js, Python, Bash.
    • Source code control tools, such as git or CVS.
    • Agile/Scrum tools and processes.
